Bringing Better Health to Rural Burundi

Last October, we held our first fundraiser event, "A Night Under The Stars." It was definitely a night to remember with music, bbq, and lots of bidding! It is amazing to see how many of you have supported our journey to provide a center for healthcare, hope, and healing for Burundians.

To be honest, 2020 was hard on our artisans, and we encountered some setbacks. Without our wholesale customers' orders, and because of COVID restrictions, we ended our lease for the sewing workshop and store in Bujumbura, Burundi. It was with a lot of tears that we went through the process of shutting the doors. But we knew God had something else in mind. Our focus to find land of our own became even more intentional, despite political unrest, regime change, and COVID.

We are now one step closer to starting Phase I of the Amahoro CURA Hope Center! We have put a deposit down on land to build the Medical Clinic with CURA's help and the generosity of those who contributed during the last year. We are so close to calling it our own!

In addition to the medical clinic, Phase II plans include building a home for Amahoro, our sewing artisan partners, to train, empower and employ more women and men and provide a safe work environment.

We are excited to share with you more details about the location, the building plans, and what 2021 has in store for us!

Stay tuned for more to come.
